About Us

The Short Version

We love WCS, and we offer group classes, dance parties, private lessons, and organized events to anyone interested because we think you will love (or at least really enjoy) WCS too.

The Long Version

We love wcs and we want everyone to be able to enjoy dancing it as much as we do. We host a variety of opportunities to spread the fun and knowledge of wcs we have to everyone, including people with

  • Two Left Feet
We usually hear this claim on a monthly basis. We also usually get people who make this claim dancing after a lesson or two in our weekly beginner class about as often as we hear the claim. If you can walk a straight line, this class can get you dancing.
  • Two Normal Feet
Do you have both a left and right foot, and enjoy social dancing and attending classes and workshops to help improve your dancing? So do most of the people in our community. You will feel right at home in our weekly intermediate class and monthly dance parties. You may also want to look into our organized events.
  • Advanced & Competitive WCS Backgrounds
We have dancers in our community who regularly attend our weekly advanced class and monthly social dances with years of dance experience under their belts. Some of our dancers compete in dance competitions from New York to California, a few have won in competition at the national level!

What are these organized events we speak of? By joining our mailing list you can receive up-to-date information on places we go and things we do outside of our regularly scheduled events. If you have ideas for an event please e-mail us also to let us know. Past events include (but are not limited to)

  • Road Trips
We organize trips to dance conventions along the east coast like our annual trip to MadJam in D.C. and organize group dinner (or breakfast) outings while we are there.
  • Nights on the Town
We have been know to show up at some of Pittsburgh's fine night spot establishments for some fun and dancing. Past trips have included stops in Station Square or the Strip District. If there is room to dance we are willing to take a few spins.
  • Rolling up the Rug
Some people have been kind enough to offer there house for dance get togethers. We simply move the chairs, roll up the rugs, and crank up the tunes.

The end at last!!! I warned you this was the long version. Please take some time to browse our site and see all of the opportunities we have to offer. Contact us at PghWCS@gmail.com with any questions or comments you may have. Thank you for visiting our site and we will see you on the dance floor.
